The Event

Farewell to Ethan. Nineteen members of our family joined together to wish the oldest grandchild, my firstborn, godspeed in his journey beginning this week. One day of prayer to prepare, one morning of cooking, and then the dinner. It was a blessing for everyone, but for me especially. Everyone present made an effort to be there, some driving many miles, others few. Saturday for me was a day of prayer to pave the way for God's grace to envelope me. It was a long day void of joy, and full of confession, adoration and supplication. I stood in the Light allowing my Father to minister to me. He always is right on time.

Today was Ethan's day to remember his family and his home. It was wonderful. A new soldier will begin his job this week, walking in the steps of so many before him and many to come. He will be trained, disciplined, and educated to walk as a defender of the country we live in. It will be a honor to call my son a soldier. May the blood of Jesus cover him in all his steps and grant him protection in all situations.
